Choosing your quarantine package

For travellers arriving into England or Northern Ireland

If you are arriving into England or Northern Ireland regardless of your final destination within the UK and have visited or passed through a country on the list from which travel to the UK is banned, (sometimes called the ‘red list’) in the 10 days prior to your arrival then you are required by law to book a 10 day (11 night) managed quarantine package which includes your hotel stay, food and beverages, transfers, security and 2 Covid-19 tests. This is called the Managed Quarantine Package.
PROCEED TO MANAGED QUARANTINE PACKAGE
If you have not travelled through these countries, but are arriving from any other international destination to England or Northern Ireland you are required to book and pay for 2 Covid-19 test kits, to use while you complete your period of mandatory quarantine. This is called the Covid Testing Package.

More information about the Managed Quarantine and mandatory testing rules is available at gov.uk/travel-quarantine-and-testing.

For travellers arriving into Scotland

If you are arriving directly into Scotland from any country outside the Common Travel Area (UK, including Northern Ireland; Republic of Ireland; Channel Islands and Isle of Man) then you are required by law to quarantine in a government-approved facility, unless you are eligible for an exemption.
If you are arriving into Scotland from elsewhere in the Common Travel Area you are required by law to enter quarantine in a government-approved facility if you have been in a Red List country in the 10 days prior to your arrival.
To quarantine, you are required by law to book a 10 day (11 night) package in a government-approved facility which includes your hotel stay, food and beverages, transfers, security and 2 Covid-19 tests. This is called the Managed Quarantine Package.
PROCEED TO MANAGED QUARANTINE PACKAGE
If an exemption from managed isolation in a government-approved facility applies to you, you are still required by law to book and pay for 2 Covid-19 test kits. This is called the Covid Testing Package.
These tests should be used while you complete your period of mandatory self-isolation, unless you have a valid exemption.

For travellers arriving directly into Wales or arriving into England, Scotland or Northern Ireland and then travelling onto Wales

If you have been in a Red list country within the last 10 days, you are not allowed to enter into Wales directly, but must quarantine at your designated port of entry in a managed quarantine facility. This is called a Managed Quarantine Package.
If you are arriving into Wales from an Amber list country then you must book and pay for 2 Covid-19 test kits, to use while you complete your period of mandatory quarantine. This is called the Covid Testing Package.
If you are arriving in England, Scotland or Northern Ireland and travelling onto Wales then you must follow the relevant guidance above for your entry point into the UK.
